College tuition has been rising at twice the national inflation rate, regardless of which direction the stock market moves. With local colleges costing around $48,000 per year, many students are forced into only applying to public universities, or their parents are forced to sacrifice their own personal (retirement) savings to make college a reality. This course will cover:

  • Overview of how your home, college tuition costs, and your retirement are all interlinked.
  • The EFC (Expected Family Contribution) calculation.

  • Strategies to cut costs: For those who DO NOT qualify for financial aid.

Tim Higgins is a Certified Financial Planner, Certified College Planning Specialist, and graduate of Wesleyan University. He is a former financial radio talk show host and author of Pay for College without Sacrificing Your Retirement (Bay Tree Publishing). He has appeared in SmartMoney Magazine and on WBZ-TV.
